Our Vision Statement
Through our Christian values, we strive to enrich the lives of our worshipping community. We will live, love and learn through faith in Jesus ‘who strengthens us’. We will celebrate diversity and believe that we can reach our full potential academically, socially, globally and spiritually.
Our Mission Statement
‘We Live, Love and Learn through Faith in Jesus’
'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me' (Philippians 4:13)
The school educates children in a context in which they experience and are given an understanding of the Christian faith, as received and practised in the Church of England.
Our school therefore aims:
What are our Christian values?
Our Christian values, which derive from the life and teaching of Jesus, underpin every aspect of school life at Saint Laurence. We aim to model and promote these values in all that we do; these values are Love, Justice, Respect, Forgiveness, Hope and Excellence.
We believe that the greatest of these values is love.
There is no commandment greater. Mark 12:31
Love is simply putting others before ourselves.
Let all that you do be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14
Justice is about fairness and doing right by others. So we seek to build children who not only believe in justice, but who will be just in their actions.
Do for others just what you would want to do for them. Luke 6:31
Respect forms the basis of our relationships with each other. The principles of respecting oneself are applied in equal measure towards others.
Treat everyone you meet with dignity. Love your spiritual family. Revere God. Respect the government. 1 Peter 2:17
Hope relates to the certainty of what we will have in the future, based on what we learn now.
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles: They will run and not grow weary: they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
Understanding that we all fail at times and deserve the chance to put things right.
Tolerate the weaknesses of those in the family of faith, forgiving one another in the same way you have been forgiven. Colossians 3:13
Doing our best in all that we do.
Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31
