Welcome to our School

A very warm welcome to St Laurence’s Church of England Primary School.

I am very proud and privileged to be Headteacher of St Laurence’s.  Our school is a wonderful community for our young people to grow and learn and we believe in providing the highest quality education for our children in a caring, positive atmosphere based upon Christian values.

As a church school, we believe that the Christian faith underpins all that we do in school and permeates all aspects of school life. The school has strong links with St. Laurence’s church and our Christian values are reflected throughout all we do within school and beyond.

We provide a warm, happy and safe environment where children are guided to achieve their very best, knowing that they are safe, unique, special and valued.  Staff and Governors work incredibly well together to offer children a wealth of stimulating learning opportunities, which will challenge them as individuals and enable them to develop as a whole, whilst having lots of fun!

We have very high expectations of all our pupils and we encourage children, staff and parents to aspire to the same. We focus on the whole child, equipping them with skills for life and a passion for lifelong learning, through a wide and varied curriculum.  We are passionate about teaching children how to learn better, how to become responsible citizens of the world and how to live harmoniously with others.

Your child’s education is very much a partnership between home, school, the church and the local community. Children are more likely to reach their full potential when home and school work closely together and we welcome your involvement in all aspects of the life of our school.

Our children, their families and the community are at the heart of our school and we love to celebrate their success and achievements as a community.  Your help and support plays a vital part in the education of your child and we are always happy to talk with you about your child’s achievements and progress.

Visitors are always welcome to experience the friendly and warm atmosphere within our lovely school for yourselves and I would be delighted to show you around.
