Cooking & Nutrition is a key component of our D&T curriculum at St Laurence's. A food technology project is built into the curriculum in every school year. We believe Cooking & Nutrition is so important to the education of our young people that we need to start early in this life journey and give all children the skills and knowledge to make and innovate nutritious and healthy dishes at home as well as in school. This is even more important with the current cost of living crisis as families grapple with rising food and energy costs, as well as childhood obesity and the impact on the planet of our lifestyle choices.
