JEWELLERY AND WATCHES

JEWELLERY AND WATCHES IN PE LESSONS

• No jewellery can be worn during PE lessons. Stud earrings MUST be removed for PE, Games and Swimming.

• If children intend to have their ears pierced please do so during the Summer Holidays so that stud earrings

can be removed on return to school in September.

• Please avoid having ears pierced at other times during the school year, as stud earrings cannot be removed

for a period of 6 weeks and would prevent children from participating in PE, games or swimming lessons.

• We cannot put tape over the ears to protect the earrings as this is unsafe according to AfPE.

• Earrings cannot be removed by a member of staff and must be removed by the child themselves.

SWIMMING

• As we regard these lessons as part of the Curriculum, children can only be excused on medical grounds.

• Swimming lessons are taken by children in Key Stage 2.

• Children need a costume, towel and a brush or comb in a strong, waterproof bag.

• Boys must wear short length trunks rather than long baggy swim shorts.

• Girls must wear a one-piece costume.

• No deodorant sprays or hair gel to be used.

• Children must wear swimming caps which can be bought at the pool. FOOTBALL

• We recommend that children who attend football as an extra curricular activity wear football boots (trainers

  in dry weather).

• Shin pads must be worn at all times.
