We are delighted to inform you that we have been awarded Salix grant funding through Blackburn Diocese, to carry out work in school towards making our school carbon neutral. This also means we are now a member of a new team, The Blackburn Diocesan Board of Education Carbon Neutral Pioneers!
The work being carried out will include LED lighting throughout school, a new air source heat pump to replace the existing boiler and solar panelling. We are sure you will agree the work being done in our school is part of a truly ground-breaking project.
We are very excited about the impact this will have on the curriculum, worship and social action elements of school life, and the creative ways in which we can involve the children and groups of Eco-Ambassadors in this pioneering project. We see this as an amazing opportunity to create a lasting platform to educate the children and our school community in the role we play in saving our planet. We are very excited to be part of this project and want to say a huge thank you to Sam Johnson and the team at the diocese for supporting us.
