Mr Knowles' Great Greek Box! (Y4)
Mr Knowles has taught Y4 all about shell structures. These are boxes or 3D shapes, made from one single piece of material in the shape of a net (a series of 2D shapes linked together). Y4 have been learning about the Ancient Greeks in History, so this project was a great way to show off their knowledge and create a jewellery box for a wealthy Athenian. They analysed all sorts of existing boxes (every-day packaging), then designed a net using Computer-Aided Design techniques (CAD), practised skills to make a prototype and evaluated their final product, looking at what they might change next time.
